In any court of law, the facts of a case are paramount. Often a person’s very life rests on the facts of their case being proven beyond a reasonable doubt. It would be wonderful if facts were pursued so rigorously in real life as they are required to be in the courtroom. However, out here on the streets, we live is a world of “your truth” and “my truth.” Even God Himself has become subject to one’s own interpretation, and if what you believe works for you, great! No harm done, right? Wrong! For just as a defendant’s life is dependent on the facts revealed by the court, so are our eternal destinies dependent on the unchanging facts God has revealed about Himself.

Fact – God is a real person (Three persons actually).

Lord, you have been our dwelling place
    throughout all generations.
Before the mountains were born
or you brought forth the whole world,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

Psalm 90:1-2 ESV

Fact – You cannot change who a person is simply by believing something different about them.

You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

Genesis 3:4-5 ESV

Fact – The Bible has 66 books written by over 40 authors who all reveal the same consistent God.

The law of the Lord is perfect,
    refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
    making wise the simple.

Psalm 19:7 ESV

Fact – If you are worshipping a god of your imagination because you are dissatisfied with who God has revealed Himself to be, you are worshipping an idol.

For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens.

Psalm 96:5 ESV

Stick to the facts and worship the true and living God.
